Christmas Parade--December 6, 2009 (after noon)
Very successful-great crowd! Thanks to all that was in the parade and the hundreds that came out to watch. Special thanks to Casey Orr, Lisa Landers, and Tracey Wigley and all the Asbury VFD who helped. Tim Moses, Ken Burns, and many others served up about 35 gallon of chili to everyone. Thanks again to all that helped.

Christmas Dinner --December 5, 2009 at 7:00 P. M.
Dinner was very successful.
At our annual Christmas dinner the following were presented
1. Shalanda Iceis Kindred (Student)--- for heroic action during Asbury School Fire
2. Tracey Wigley(Support Staff) --- for heroic actio during Asbury School Fire
3. Kim Jordan (Bookkeeeper)--- for heroic action during Asbury School Fire
4. Nikki Baldwin(Jr. Firefighter) --- for heroic action during Rick Holcomb accident


The Chicken House of HORROR was a great success. Record attendance and rave reports. Made a hugh payment on TANKER #1 thanks to event.. Special thanks to Stanley and Rebecca McClendon for the use of their property. Event will be in same location next year. Thanks to all the dedicated workers and to the hugh number attending.


Thanks to AVFD workers, Willow Brook Golf Course, sponsors, and golfers we were able to have a very successful event. We reacched our goal of $9500.00 which is dedicated to paying our insurance for 2010.

AIR PLANE GOLF was great. We sold 255 balls at $20.00 each. Steve Kaple of Shutters by Design on highway 75 near Cochran's Corner AIR PLANE GOLF winner received $2550.00 . His ball was only 2.1 feet from the hole. Furtherest from the hole was Miles Parsons at 82.3 feet and winning $100.00. Johnny Ashley and Ed Spain were pilots dropping the balls.



Tournament winners were:
1st place : Todd Mitchem, Donnie Rowell, & Jon Bailey $500
2nd : Chuck Tumlin, Rodney Simpson, & Brad Edmondson $300
3rd: Kenny Cook, Johnny Pelham &Mike Morris $200.

The Hole-in-one package was a Cobalt and golf clubs, a vacation, and other items sponsored by Bob Hembree Chevrolet/Buick. No winners.

Special sponsor was Guntersville Walmart and Corp sponsor was Muscadines/Grapes on Martling Gap Road--Jerry Wenker owner.
